Day1:

Autonomous arrival on the island of Vulcano.

SULPHUROUS MUD

The sulphurous mud are one of the peculiarities of Vulcano and an important natural resource for the care of the body. They are located in the Levante area a few meters from the port, behind a rock of incredible colors, with shades ranging from yellow to red. The sulfur pool is a large natural pool made up of a mixture of mineralized brackish water, useful for treating arthritis and skin diseases. In addition, the fumes of sulfur vapors that escape from the water, are a cure for the treatment of the respiratory tract.

BEACHES

The Black Sand Beach (SabbieNere) is the most popular beach of the island. It is located in the natural harbor of Ponente and is characterized by fine and blacksand, very bright, of volcanic origin. In the Bay of Ponente it is also the Spiaggiadell’Asinoalso consist of black volcanic sand. In the Bay of Levante is the beach of AcqueCalde, produced by ebullitions underwater. On the southern side of the island is Gelso, picturesque beach and less frequented.

VOLCANOLOGICALCENTER

We recommend a visit to the volcanic center where, assisted by an expert in geology, you can get information about the geological history of the island, about the eruption of Volcano and Seismology.

CLIMBING to CRATER of VULCANO

In the late afternoon you can freely climb the large crater of Vulcano island. The path leading to the top is easily explored without a guide. Journey times are approximately three hours (a / r). At the top of the volcano, it will present to your eyes an expanse of dust and rubble, a show "typical lunar" unique and unforgettable. The hike to the crater is a walk not to be missed. It makes perceptible wonderful feelings and allows you to discover a world hardly imaginable.

Transfer on the island of Lipari. The largest of the Aeolian Islands, Lipari offers itineraries of relax and culture, with its beaches and picturesque bays, the Old Town, the Castle and the Archaeological Museum.

CATHEDRAL OF ST BARTHOLOMEW

The Cathedral, dedicated to St. Bartholomew, was built by Count Roger, who donated it to the monk Ambrose, appointed the first abbot of all the Aeolian Islands. This donation was confirmed by Roger II in 1134.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK

The Archaeological Park Quarter Diana Lipari extends into the vast flat area bounded to the east of the historic center of the modern city to the west of the slope opposite, south of the laying of the Walloon and North Wallon S. Lucia. In the area of ​​the Park is the Vescovile Building, bounded on the South Street Diana, (now  G. Marconi), and other small adjacent archaeological areas.

The Archaeological Park of Diana Area was established in 1971 as a result of carried out by Luigi Bernabò Brea and Madeleine Cavalier archaeological excavations they highlighted the walls urbiche Greek age of IV century BC.

The park is Municipality of Lipari idea, and the aim was to create a green area in the heart of the city.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF LIPARI

The Regional Archaeological Museum Aeolian archipelago is located in the Castle complex overlooking the island of Lipari. The museum was built after World War II and has, for the most part, from systematic archaeological excavations conducted by archaeologists Luigi Bernabo Brea eMadeleine Cavalier, in the territory of the Aeolian Islands.

7:00pm Departure for return to Vulcano.

Day 3

08:00am Breakfast.

10:00am Check-out. The hotel offers luggage storage.

11:00am Departure for the tour boat around the island of Vulcano. Leaving the port of Levante, we will find Vulcanello joined to the Island by an isthmus of sand. Then we will see the Monster Valley, characterized by stones of a strange shape. After that, we will see Lipari’s Faraglioni, PietraLunga and PietraMenalda, the typical figure of Pope Giovanni and the Angels’ Cave. More ahead, on our left there is the Black Sands' bay. The Small Creek and the Large Creek  will take us to Venus’ pool, where we could admire the magnificence of the Horse’s Cave and where we will stop to let you dive in this clear and beautiful sea. Then we will sail along the overhanging rock of the Long Beach, going beyond the Abbot’s Cave and moving towards Gelso, where we will stop at the Asino’s beach for a refreshing swim.
