Trekking to the crater of Vulcano Island

 

The island of Vulcano is defined as the “ more geologically interesting ” between the Aeolian islands  because of the smell of sulfur that can be felt everywhere, the particular conformation of “ lava and tuff ” and the “ four volcanic craters ” that dominate the landscape.

Vulcano is a big Island full of vegetation, with deep valleys shaped by explosive activity and expanses of scented broom, the first plants able to take root of recent volcanic soils.
